Download a printer-friendly version.

ASCIP's members have experienced a significant number of computer and computer component losses through theft and similar circumstances.

The Alliance of Schools for Cooperative Insurance Programs (ASCIP), has recognized that the theft of computer equipment and components has become a widespread and serious problem throughout industry and in the educational community.

Funding for educational programs is diminished each time lost or stolen computer equipment must be replaced. The additional loss of stored data on such equipment represents thousands of hours of time and may result in the loss of essential records or confidential information. Computer thefts benefit only the criminal and rob all students of a valuable educational resource.

THEREFORE, ON BEHALF OF OUR MEMBERS, ASCIP ANNOUNCES A REWARD! PAYING UP TO $1000.00 FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF ANYONE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEFT OF COMPUTER EQUIPMENT OR RELATED COMPONENTS FROM AN ASCIP MEMBER AGENCY!

ASCIP is a sponsor of the nationally recognized WE-TIP crime prevention program. Information regarding computer theft or other crimes should be reported anonymously to the WE-TIP 24 HOUR HOTLINE AT 1-800-78-CRIME. DO NOT GIVE YOUR NAME. Callers should reference the ASCIP COMPUTER THEFT REWARD.

All rewards will be paid ANONYMOUSLY in accordance with established WE-TIP procedures. WE-TIP is TOTALLY ANONYMOUS!
