SUMMARY:Comprehensive School Safety Plan Training.  This is Part 1 in a 3-part series.
DESCRIPTION:All California public schools (K- 12th grade) are required to develop and maintain a Comprehensive School Safety Plan (CSSP)\, per California Education Code sections 32280-32289.5.  Each CSSP must address the safety concerns identified through a systematic planning process that includes community stakeholders such as school staff\, parents\, students\, and local first responders.  The plans should contain strategies and policies to prevent and respond to potential incidents involving emergencies\, natural disasters\, violence\, active intruders\, bullying\, discrimination\, child abuse\, discipline\, and other safety aspects.  The CSSP must be reviewed and updated annually by a school’s School Site Council and adopted by the School Board by March 1 of each calendar year.  Come learn about all of the current requirements needed to refresh your CSSP. \nIn this training\, participants will be provided with an overview of CSSP and will learn about the general requirements.  The trainer will cover the following sections: \n\nAppropriate Programs and Strategies that Provide School Safety\nAssessment of School Crime\nEnsuring a Safe and Orderly Environment – Goals and Objectives\nDisaster Procedures\n\n  \nTarget Audience:  Risk Management\, Administration \n  \nTo register\, please email Kimberly Kennedy at kennedy@ascip.org \n
