SUMMARY:ASCIP-NASDTEC Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The NASDTEC Educator Identification Clearinghouse is the national collection point for professional educator discipline actions taken throughout the US. The Clearinghouse maintains a database of all disciplinary actions reported by districts and disseminates this information to all participating ASCIP members who have signed up for this service. \nNASDTEC staff will provide an overview of the Clearinghouse as well as detailed instructions on how to utilize the online platform. Participants will learn how to efficiently check the credentials of certificated applicants during the onboarding process. The Clearinghouse will report employment and address discrepancies\, as well as other red flags that may require further review or clarification. NASDTEC will increase the safety of students since it expands the clearance process to identify certificated employee candidates who may have a history of potentially unsafe practices.
