SUMMARY:8-Hour Hazardous Materials Awareness/CERS Training
DESCRIPTION:This 8-hour training is the minimum required under current State law for those employees who must respond to incidents involving the potential or actual release of a toxic or hazardous substance.  This training allows the first responder to gain a basic understanding of the potential risks involved in dealing with such incidents and how they may be resolved in an appropriate and safe manner.  This level of awareness training is not sufficient for actual hands-on cleanup and mitigation of toxic or hazardous releases but will provide information necessary for first responders to use when making decisions to ensure continued personal and environmental safety.  ASCIP’s hazardous materials management and disposal consultant\, IEL Consulting\, will offer this informative presentation which is intended to assist individuals who are required to respond to releases of potentially hazardous materials.  Attendees must be present for the entire program to receive a training certificate. \nLocation:  ASCIP Training Room\, 16550 Bloomfield Avenue\, Cerritos\, 90703 \nPresenter:  Larry Neenan\, IEL Consulting \nTo register\, please email Kimberly Kennedy at kennedy@ascip.org.  Please register early as space is limited. \nLunch will be provided. \n

SUMMARY:Improving Staff Mental Health for Schools Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Supporting mental health in the workplace is no longer a “nice gesture” but a necessity\, especially when employees are those working with and around students.  “Quiet quitting” and the “Great Resignation\,” along with a noticeable increase in mental health challenges cannot be ignored.  Administrators have the opportunity and power to make their school/district an engine for positive mental health and wellbeing. Supporting employee mental health is supporting student mental health and the overall success of the school and district. This workshop will challenge school administrators to rethink how they protect workers from harm\, foster a sense of connection among workers\, demonstrate that workers matter\, encourage positive and healthy lives outside of work and support professional and personal growth. \n  \nPresenter:  Sherry Colgan Stone\, Ed.D.\, Stone Campus Safety and Katarina Roy Schanz\, Ed.D. \n  \nRegistration Link \n

SUMMARY:Responding to Press and Public When CSA Incidents Occur
DESCRIPTION:During times of crisis\, it is imperative that districts are prepared to respond to questions\, concerns while sending a message of safety and support. Most often districts do not have adequate time to develop and prepare the responses brought on by the barrage of press and media requests. This presentation will provide tips\, templates\, and strategies to support district preparedness and response when crisis occurs. \n  \nTarget Audience: PIO Representatives & Cabinet Representatives \n  \nTrainer:  Myrna Marston\, MPR+ Strategic Communications \n  \nRegistration Link
