Winter SB390 Training
All campus security officers, security guards, noon or lunch supervisors, employed by a school district, charter school, county office of education, or community college district are required to complete this three-day training course before beginning their duties, regardless of the number of hours they work. This training is mandatory for all safety and security personnel, including volunteers.
The three-day course covers the following topics:
- Roles and Responsibilities
- Law and Liability
- Security Awareness
- Mediation and Conflict Resolution
- Disasters and Emergencies
- Dynamics of Student Behavior
- Final Examination
Attendance is required for all three days of training. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate that satisfies the training requirement for life. However, refresher training is recommended every few years to stay informed about emerging threats and evolving safety concerns, including incidents such as “swatting.”
ASCIP is offering this training at no cost to its members. Registration is required at least one week prior to the training date. No registrations will be accepted on the days of training.
Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch, snacks, and beverages for each day of training.
