The United States Supreme Court has held that students, including minors, have some Constitutional rights to free speech, even on school campuses. But is all speech protected? When does speech rise to the point where discipline is warranted? When can a school regulate student speech? In this Roundtable, we will discuss rights of freedom of speech and assembly, and how to understand when speech becomes an issue warranting a response.
